Your employees are spending more than one third of their day at work and this puts you in a unique position to promote health. Knowing just what programs will benefit your organization can be a difficult task, but that is where I come in. My goal is to help companies create a healthier and happier workforce through wellness initiatives and reduced workplace injuries.
Physical Demands AnalysisThis analysis gives a snapshot of the forces that are applied to a worker's body on a daily basis. Analysis includes a job shadow to measure all forces applied to the worker, as well as a report that breaks down the forces for each task. This assessment is helpful when onboarding employees, as well as when an injured worker is returning to duties. This data can be used to ensure that the people you hire/ return to work are physically capable of safely carrying out their job.

Ergonomic AssessmentErgonomic assessments provide workers with the knowledge on how to optimize their workspace. This is a great tool for injury prevention and back to work planning. This assessment includes taking worker's health history, assessing work set up, educating workers on practices they can implement immediately how to reduce discomfort and pain. It also suggests changes that can be implemented to the workstation to minimize negative impacts. An accompanying report will include findings of the assessment and recommendations on administrative controls and equipment purchases that will improve the ergonomics of the workstation.

Health PromotionEmployers can promote a culture of healthy living that goes beyond the workplace. Providing access to discounted gym memberships, or having incentive programs for maintaining scores on health assessments are just a few examples.

Pre Employment TestingHiring a new employee can be difficult. Ensuring the potential hire can complete the physical tasks of their position is also challenging. Using a physical demands analysis pre employment standards can be developed to match candidates physical abilities to position and create a document to test the daily tasks. This testing will reduce the risk of injury and improve retention.

Return to Work planning When injuries happen, it is critical to have a strategic return to work plan for employees returning to their position after a period of absence. Tools like ergonomics, and a work specific exercise program can benefit a employee who is returning to work. These tools along with other administrative controls such as modified work schedule, task /work rotation. and having a solid plan where all parties know their responsibilities will ensure a smooth transition back into the working environment.
